May Newsletter

Happy May, Douglas Park families!

It seems that spring has officially sprung and everywhere we look, there are signs of the change in seasons.  The students have been busy during outdoor time with digging for bugs, inspecting new buds growing and splashing in rain puddles!

It's hard to believe that we are so close to the end of the school year, but we aren't slowing down in our classrooms.  In fact, the next two months will be filled to the brim with fun activities and adventures!

Upcoming for June.....

Pro D Day: Monday, June 1st

Don't forget to mark down June 5th as Park Day!!  There will be no regular classes in session on this day, as everyone is invited to join us for our annual day of fun and games here at Douglas Park.  We are working hard to make sure everyone has an amazing time, and we will send out more specific details as the date draws nearer.

4 year old graduation: June 19th.  More details to follow....

In our classrooms this month:

The Unicorn class has been digging into Spring and exploring the world around them lately!  We will continue to examine all things related to growing and nature, as we plant beans, learn about bees and hives, have a look at weather, and of course, discuss baby animals.

As the Orca room students slowly leave the animals of the tropical rainforest, they will move closer to home and begin to explore the Westcoast's very own temperate rainforest!  Stay tuned to hear all about deciduous and coniferous trees, as well as fern, mosses, lichens, and animals that make up the rainforest habitat.
