March Newsletter

It's almost Spring, Douglas Park Families!

One day it's raining, the next day we are treated to beautiful, warm sunshine.
With all of that rain and sun, flowers are beginning to pop up and the cherry blossoms have bloomed early!  How lucky we are to live in such a beautiful part of Canada.

Don't forget to send boots and rain pants with your child.  Even if the sun is out, the playground may be muddy in spots!

Reminders:

Spring Break

Monday, March 9th- Friday, March 20th.

Classes are back in session Monday March 23rd.

Easter
There will be no classes in session on Friday, April 3rd or Monday, April 6th.

Check your emails for news about our exciting Spring Fundraiser!
We’ve teamed up with Purdy’s Chocolatiers this year to offer you the chance to order delicious Easter chocolates for your family, friends, and coworkers, while also helping our preschool!
Twenty-five percent of all the sales come directly back to your child’s classroom.  This helps to enhance our programs with new materials, plan exciting field trips, and invite guest resources in, such as the CAARE program!

As they’ve only just scratched the surface, the ORCA room will continue on their journey into deep space!  After we return from Spring Break, much more exploration will be done in learning about the planets in our solar system.  The students have already proven to be a wealth of information, as well as extremely eager to soak up new space facts!
The UNICORN room will begin to explore Community Helpers, as we’ve seen many students bringing in toy fire trucks and police cars, as well as engaging in fantastic imaginative play in our house corner!  If any of our parents have careers in the Community Helper field, we'd love to have you into the class to visit with the students and talk about it!  Please talk to your child's teacher about scheduling a visit.
